Intan Shahira

Chief People Officer, AirAsia Group

Intan Shahira Mohammed Shahru currently holds the position of Chief People Officer for AirAsia Group, and brings over 20 years of experience within the Human Resources function under her belt.

Graduating from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Commerce, complemented by a double major in Law and Management, Intan’s academic foundation has fortified her experiences in the corporate world.

Additionally, her decade long involvement as a Management Consultant with KornFerry, followed by 6 years as the Director of Strategic Human Capital at the Central Bank of Malaysia has given her substantial understanding in her field of expertise.

In her 6 years as a key figure within AirAsia Group, Intan embraces the profound quote by Sheryl Sandberg, former Chief Operating Officer of Meta Platforms, “Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence, and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.” Intan’s guiding philosophy, “You do you. You are a version of yourself, and not a copy of someone else,” accentuates her approach as both a leader and a mother to three children.

Outside her professional endeavours, Intan finds enthusiasm in reading, her favourite book being The Hard Things about Hard Things, by Ben Horowitz, alongside other works by authors such as Jim Collins, Simon Sinek, and Colleen Hoover. Besides being a book-lover, Intan has a keen interest in the entertainment world, with her favourite performers including Usher, Akiniko, and David Goggins.
