Malcolm Pruys is the Country Retail Director for IKEA Malaysia, bringing over 35 years of retail experience to the role. His tenure with IKEA began in 1998 as a Department Head in Melbourne, Australia. Since then, he has held various leadership positions across multiple countries, including China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Mexico. In 2017, Pruys was instrumental in launching IKEA's operations in Mexico, where he served as Managing Director for five years. His leadership was pivotal in establishing and growing the brand in the Mexican market.

In September 2022, Pruys assumed the role of Country Retail Director for IKEA Malaysia. Under his leadership, IKEA Malaysia has focused on expanding its omnichannel operations and enhancing accessibility for customers nationwide. This includes the introduction of numerous collection points across the country, aiming to make IKEA's products more accessible to all Malaysians by the end of 2025.

Pruys is also committed to sustainability initiatives. He has overseen the addition of electric vehicles to IKEA Malaysia's delivery fleet, aligning with the company's goal of achieving 100% sustainable home deliveries by 2030.
