Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad, was appointed Group Managing Director of SD Guthrie Berhad (Guthrie) on 1 January 2026. With over 30 years of global experience in the downstream sector, particularly commodity trading, procurement, and strategic transformation, Haris is known for driving operational excellence with visionary leadership.

More recently, he expanded his oversight to the upstream sector of the palm oil business, leading Guthrie's internal transformation efforts across all geographies.

Since joining the Group in 2014, Haris was pivotal in the growth of its downstream division from a modest contributor to the bottom-line, to the multimillion-ringgit business it is today. He served as Managing Director of Sime Darby Oils, (now SD Guthrie International) from March 2019 to August 2024 when he was promoted to Group Chief Operating Officer, and then in September 2025 to Deputy Group Managing Director. In his two previous roles, he led the Group’s upstream operations and transformation efforts across Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, SD Guthrie International, the Innovation & Research Division, and also global transformation initiatives.
