Michael Roy is the Managing Director of BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and the Human Resources Director, Performance Materials Asia Pacific, BASF South East Asia Regional Headquarters, Ltd.

His career journey spans several disciplines, including Sales, Quality Control in Operations, and - most extensively - Human Resources, where he has built a reputation for combining business acumen with a genuine people-first approach.
At the heart of Michael’s leadership philosophy is a deep passion for people and a strong belief in authentic, effective leadership. He is known for fostering open,
respectful and high-performing teams, and for leading with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

Outside of work, Michael brings the same energy and enthusiasm to life as he does to leadership. A keen contact sports enthusiast and regular gym‐goer, he also proudly calls himself a self‐taught “chef,” a loyal “Red Devil,” and an avid traveller who enjoys discovering new places and experiences.
