JOHAN ROZALI-WATHOOTH

Johan started his career more than two decades ago in London within the corporate restructuring industry, before transitioning into alternative investments which included stints working for some of the leading private equity and special situations alternative investment firms globally.

 

Johan founded Bintang Capital Partners Berhad, an award-winning Southeast Asian impact investment focused private equity firm, in 2018. The firm is a joint venture between Johan and AHAM Asset Management Berhad.

 

Apart from being a representative director on Bintang portfolio companies’ boards, Johan also chairs the boards of TMK Chemical Berhad (a leading Southeast Asian end-to-end chemical products manufacturer and distributor) and Wise Payments Malaysia Sdn Bhd (the wholly-owned Malaysian subsidiary of Wise PLC).

 

Apart from his corporate interests, Johan is also a passionate advocate of impact causes. He serves on boards of various impact organisations including Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation, Impact Integrated and the Malaysian Leprosy Relief Association.

 

Johan holds a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, which he attended as a UK Government Chevening Commonwealth Scholar.  He is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales and a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.
